A Daily Prayer based on Psalm 49

Lord God, I thank you that we find in your Scripture words of wisdom and utterances from the heart that give understanding. I pray that ______________________ and I will all come to the place where we hear and accept the truth of your word. May your word come to low and high and rich and poor alike. I pray that we will not fear when evil days come and we are surrounded by those who put their trust in wealth and boast of their riches. May we continue to believe that no man can redeem the life of another or give to you a ransom for him. May all of us see that the wise, the foolish, and the senseless alike perish and leave their wealth to others. Teach us that man, despite his riches, does not endure and that a man who has riches without understanding dies just like the beasts of the field. I pray that we all will recognize that this is the fate of those who trust in themselves. They will take nothing with them when they die and their splendor will not follow them into the grave. Keep us from being overawed when a man grows rich or the splendor of his house increases. Remind us that even those who count themselves blessed while they live and are praised by men for their prosperity simply join the generation of their fathers when they die, a generation that will never again see the light of life. May we all recognize that the upright will rule the rich in the age to come. You say here that the ransom for a life is costly, and no payment that man can make is ever enough to enable him to live on forever and not see decay. I thank you that Jesus Christ gave his life as a ransom for many and has paid the only price that can be paid to grant us life after death. I thank you that he is the resurrection and the life and that those who trust in him will never die. I trust that through Christ you will redeem my life from the grave and I claim your promise that you will surely take me to yourself when I die. Please open the eyes of everyone I love that they too may find their hope for the future in Christ alone. All this I ask in his name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
