A Daily Prayer based on Psalm 44

A prayer for a family, a church, a community, or a nation which is going through great adversity despite seeking to serve God faithfully. Lord God, ______________________ and I have heard with our ears what you have done in days long ago for our fathers in the faith. With your hand you crushed and drove out their enemies before them. You planted them in the place of their adversaries and made them flourish. It was not by their sword or their arm that they gained victory but it was by your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. You are our King and our God, the God who decrees victories for your people. It is through you that we push back our enemies, and through your name that we trample our foes. We do not trust in our own resources; our strength does not bring us victory. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies; you are the one who puts our adversaries to shame. In you we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. And yet now it seems as though you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with us to battle. You have made us retreat and we have been plundered by our adversaries. You have given us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us. We have been brought down to the dust. You have made us an object of scorn and derision to those around us; our neighbors shake their heads at us. Our disgrace is before us all day long, and our faces are covered with shame. All this has happened to us though we have not forgotten you or been false to your covenant. Lord, you know the secrets of the heart and you know our hearts have not turned back and our feet have not strayed from your path. But it seems as though you have crushed us and covered us with deep darkness. It is for your sake we face death all day long and are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. We plead with you to awake, O Lord, and to rouse yourself. Do not reject us forever. Please do not hide your face and forget our misery and oppression. We beg you to rise up and help us and redeem us because of your unfailing love. In the name of Jesus I ask these things, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Welcome

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
