A Daily Prayer based on Psalm 40: 11-17

Sovereign Lord, I pray for ______________________ and for myself, for those times when troubles without number surround us, and our sins overtake us so that our heart fails within us. I ask you not to withhold your mercy from us, but instead cause your love and your truth to protect us always. I ask that you would be pleased to save us, and come quickly to help us when we need you. I pray that those who desire our ruin would be put to shame and confusion and be turned back in disgrace. May they be appalled at their own shame. May we seek you and rejoice and be glad in you. I pray that we will love your salvation and always exalt you. Please think of us when we are poor and needy and do not delay to be our help and deliverer. I pray these things in Jesus’ name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."
