A Daily Prayer based on Psalm 40:1-10

Sovereign Lord, We know that we will find ourselves at times in circumstances that make us feel as if we are in a pit of mud and mire. When I and ______________________ call out to you, I pray that you will turn to us and hear our cry. May each one of us wait patiently for your intervention. Please honor our faith in you by lifting us out of the miry bog and setting our feet on a rock. Give us us a firm place to stand and make our steps secure. I pray that we will be blessed for making you our trust instead of looking to the proud or to those who go astray after a lie. We know that you desire ears that are open to hear you more than you desire sacrifice and offering. Please work in our hearts so that we will make ourselves wholly available to you. I pray that your law will be within our hearts, and that we will desire to do only your will. I pray that you will open our eyes to see the many wonders you have done for your people and for us. May we realize that the things you have planned for us are beyond number, too many to declare even if we were to speak and tell of them. Put a new song in our mouths, a hymn of praise to you. I pray that we will not seal our lips in the great assembly or hide your deliverance in our hearts. Instead, prompt us to proclaim your righteousness and speak of your faithfulness and salvation, that others may see what you have done for us and be prompted to put their trust in you. This I ask in the name of Jesus, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
