A Daily Prayer based on Psalm 38

Lord God, There may be times in our lives when our own sinful folly causes us such pain that our guilt may overwhelm us and feel like a burden too heavy to bear. Our own sin may cause us to be bowed down and brought very low, and to feel feeble and utterly crushed. Our strength may fail, there may be tumult in our hearts, and the light may go from our eyes. Our failure may be so visible that even friends and companions avoid us, and those who would harm us talk of our ruin and slander us even when we pursue what is good. I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will confess our iniquity to you in that day and wait for you. I pray that even though your arrows pierce our hearts and your hand comes down upon us, you will not rebuke us in your anger or discipline us in your wrath. I pray that our longing for your forgiveness will come before you and not be hidden from you. I pray that you will answer us, and release your cleansing mercy and healing into our souls and bodies. I pray that you will not let our enemies gloat or exalt themselves over us when our foot slips. Do not forsake us or be far from us. Please come quickly to help us as our Lord and Savior. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
