A Daily Prayer based on Jeremiah 1

Sovereign Lord, I come before your throne today, and ask you to release your favor and blessing into my life and the lives of ______________________. You knew us even before you formed us in the womb. You set us apart to serve you before we were born, and you have appointed each of us for a special purpose. We pray that our nation will once again come to recognize that you are forming every baby in the womb, and that you have consecrated every unborn life and have purposes for it. I pray that you will show each of us the purpose you have for our lives. May we never use our sense of inadequacy as an excuse, but instead go to everyone and every place you send us and do and say whatever you command. I pray that your hand will reach out and touch us and that you will put your words in our mouth and your strength in our soul. Uproot, tear down, destroy and overthrow every work of the flesh and Satan in our lives and in our culture. Build in us and our nation your character and plant the seeds of righteousness in our hearts. I pray that you will watch to see that your word is fulfilled in us. We freely confess that we deserve your judgment as a people, for all the evil we have committed in forsaking you. We pray for our nation, that you will pull every work of darkness up by the roots, and that you will break down, destroy and overthrow every stronghold of the enemy in our land so that you may plant the seed of your word and build your kingdom here. Please raise up in our day men who will speak with a prophetic voice as Jeremiah did. Put your words in their mouth and grant them authority through the power of your word to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, and then to build and to plant. I pray that we will fear no one and be terrified of no one. May we make ourselves ready, and be prepared to say and do whatever you command us. I pray that we will be willing to stand against the whole land if necessary – kings, officials, priests and even the people of the land – to do what is right. Make us a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a bronze wall. Even though others fight against us, I pray that they will not overcome us. I ask you to be with us and rescue us. It is in the name of Christ I ask these things. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
