A Daily Prayer based on Hosea 9-10

Sovereign Lord, We come again into your presence to ask for our community and for our nation. We confess that we have been unfaithful to you, our God, and that our sins are many and our hostility to you is great. We confess that we have sunk deep into corruption. We acknowledge that if we do not turn to you, days of punishment are coming and days of reckoning are at hand. We confess that through abortion we have brought out our children to the slayer. We confess that many of our leaders are rebellious against you and your standards. We confess that we have made many false promises and oaths, and that because of this lawsuits have sprung up like poisonous weeds in a plowed field. We grieve that those who speak your truth are considered fools by many, and that inspired men are ridiculed and mocked. We grieve that even though your spokesmen are the watchmen over our land, snares often await them on their paths and they encounter hostility even in the house of their God. We acknowledge that we have planted wickedness and have reaped evil, and that we have eaten the fruit of deception. We confess that we have depended on our own strength and on our many warriors rather than on you. We pray that you will so work through your Holy Spirit that we will instead sow for ourselves righteousness and reap the fruit of unfailing love. May we break up the unplowed ground of our hard hearts. May we recognize that it is time to seek you as our Lord until you come and shower righteousness on us. This we ask in Jesus' name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
