A Daily Prayer based on Ezekiel 9-10

Lord God, We worship you as the God who sits above the expanse on a throne of sapphire, with powerful angels who serve your purpose with the spirit of cherubim, the intelligence of man, the power of lions, and the swiftness of eagles. They see everything and miss nothing, and move without turning to accomplish your will wherever your Spirit sends them. We read here of those you spared from judgment because they sighed and groaned over the things being done in their city. And so I pray that you will cause ______________________ and me to grieve and lament over the detestable things that are done in our city and nation. We know that our guilt as a people is great, that our land is full of blood and our cities full of injustice, and that we deserve to have you bring our own deeds upon our heads. Please turn our hearts back to you that we may receive blessing rather than judgment from you. We also see here that your discipline begins at your sanctuary. Remind us that, as Peter says, judgment begins with the household of God. We ask you to purify us and cause the cloud of your presence to fill us so that our bodies, souls, and spirits may be full of the radiance of your glory. May our churches also be full of the radiance and brightness of your glory. We also see how slowly and reluctantly your glory departed from your holy place, from the temple, and from the city of Jerusalem. We thank you that you are a God who is slow to anger and who abounds in mercy and shows your love to a thousand generations. We ask you to forgive us for our many sins as we take shelter under the cover of your forgiveness. It is in Jesus’ name that we pray, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
