A Daily Prayer based on Exodus 21:1-32

Sovereign Lord, We join together today in Jesus’ name to pray for the health of our community and nation and for its peace and security. We pray that you will grant wisdom to our legislators and judges so that our laws will be fair and just, and that justice will be done without partiality. We pray this in particular for laws that deal with homicide, domestic abuse, kidnapping, assault, personal injury, and abortion. We ask you to bind the spirit of homicide in our community. In Jesus’ name we rebuke Satan as the one who came to rob, kill, steal, and destroy and we loose the Spirit of life into our nation. We pray that anyone who lies in wait and kills another man deliberately and with cunning will find no refuge but instead be apprehended and put to death. We are grateful that we have abolished the terrible, terrible sin of slavery. We read here that the kind of slavery we practiced in this land, where men were kidnapped and sold, deserves the death penalty. We pray for the Muslim world where slavery is still practiced, that the light of your truth and freedom may shine into those darkened lands. We ask that you restrain the dark spirit that sets the hearts of children against their parents in rebellion, cursing, and violence. We release in its place into the heart of each son and daughter in our nation a spirit of submission and honor and a spirit of deep respect for the counsel of both mothers and fathers. We pray that you will bind the spirit of violence and assault in our community, and pray that offenders will be apprehended and justly punished. We pray that personal injury awards would likewise be just and not excessive, and that victims would receive just restitution for lost wages and medical costs that they might be made whole. We release into our community and nation a spirit of brotherhood, self-restraint, and patience. We pray that you will remind our nation and our lawmakers that human life is of infinitely more value than animal life, and that our public policies will reflect that. We bind the spirit of violence that targets children in the womb and pray the spirit of abortion will be restrained in our land. We ask that the humanity of unborn children will be affirmed by more and more people, especially lawmakers. We release a spirit of respect for life into all segments of our society, and pray that the day will come when those who cause the death of innocent children in the womb may be justly punished. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Welcome

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
