A Daily Prayer based on Matthew 17:14-27

Lord Christ, I thank you for the compassion you show to parents who kneel before you and plead with you to have mercy on their children. I accept the testimony of Matthew about you here, and believe that you rebuked the demon that caused this boy to have seizures and suffer greatly, and that it came out of him. You healed him in an instant of time. I bring myself and ______________________ before you this day. I ask you to stay with us and put up with us when we are unbelieving and perverse. Please increase our faith, and persuade us that because our faith is in you, even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. No matter how big the obstacle is that we face, I pray that we will choose to believe that nothing is impossible for us because our trust is in you. Lord, you teach us here that our true citizenship is in your kingdom with you as our king. But I also pray that you will help us to be good citizens of earthly kingdoms, paying our taxes as we should, so that we will not put a stumbling block in the path of anyone who is on their way to you. This I ask in your name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."
