A Daily Prayer based on Luke 2:21-39

Lord Jesus, I pray to you this day as the one who is the light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the light for glory to your people Israel. I acknowledge you as the one who is destined to cause the falling and rising of many and as the one who is the consolation of Israel and the world, and the redemption of Jerusalem and our own city and nation. I pray today in your name for myself and for ______________________, that everything we do will be done in accordance to what is written in your word. May we present ourselves to you and consecrate ourselves to you so that we may be righteous and devout. Prompt us to imitate the example of Joseph and Mary by presenting our own children to you and consecrating them to your service. I pray, as Simeon did, that we will wait patiently for your consolation in times of discouragement. May the Holy Spirit be upon us, and reveal to the eyes of our heart that you are the Lord's Christ. May everything we do be done in the energy and power of your Holy Spirit. I pray that we will see your salvation, and that you will be to us a light for revelation and glory. Reveal the thoughts of our own hearts to us. I pray that we will be so attached to you that we will be willing, if necessary, to have our own souls pierced with a sword for your sake. Remind us that you are a sign that is opposed, and that opposition to you and your gospel reveals the thoughts of men's hearts. I pray that we will worship you in your unseen temple in the heavens night and day. Teach us to pray and fast as you direct us. I pray that you will give us opportunity to speak to others about you and the redemption that is available in you. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
