A Daily Prayer based on Luke 18:18-34

Heavenly Father, I pray in Jesus’ name that ______________________ and I will have the simple, innocent faith of a little child, so that we may enter your kingdom. I pray that you will give us a hunger to do whatever is necessary to inherit eternal life. May we, with humility, accept that there is no one who is good except you. I ask you to release your Holy Spirit into our lives that we may keep your commandments. I pray that you will protect us from the temptation to adultery in practice and in thought, and produce in us a spirit of faithfulness and purity. Protect us from a spirit of violence and anger, and produce in us the fruit of the Spirit of self-control. Protect us from the temptation to take anything that belongs to another, and produce in us a spirit of hard work and generosity. Protect us from the temptation to lie or in any way twist the truth, and produce in us a spirit of honesty and integrity. May we always honor both father and mother. I pray that we will be willing to give up anything that would keep us from laying up treasure in heaven and following you. I claim your promise for us that, whatever we have had to leave behind to follow your Son, we will receive many times as much in this age, and eternal life in the age to come. Teach us to believe you for impossible things, and to always remember that what is impossible with men is possible with you. We confess that there are times when it seems impossible to us that people we love will ever come to faith. Remind us that no one is beyond the reach of your power. Please give us ears to hear your teaching. May nothing be hidden from us, that we may know and understand your truth as we read your words. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
