A Daily Prayer based on Luke 17:20-37

Lord Jesus, I ask you to release into my life and the lives of ______________________ the truth that your kingdom is already within us, that it doesn't come with careful observation or counting the days on a calendar, and that we do not have to wait for someone to point it out to us. Instead, may we recognize that your kingdom is present anywhere and everywhere you are. I pray in your name that you will protect us from being deceived in any way about your return, and not go running off after people who say you have already returned in some form. Instead, I pray that we will understand that your coming will be evident to everyone, and that you, in your day, will be like the lightning which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. Lord, you warn us in this section that many will not be ready for your return. They will blindly go on eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, buying and selling, building and planting, right up to the day that destruction comes, as it did to Noah's contemporaries and to Lot's contemporaries. I pray that we all will be ready for the day you will be revealed. May we always look forward to your coming and not look back at the world as Lot's wife did. I pray that we will all hold to the truth that a man who tries to keep his life will only lose it. May each one of us be willing to lose our lives, abandoning them to you and your purposes, so that we may preserve them in the end. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
