A Daily Prayer based on John 7:1-24

Lord Jesus, The world hated you because you testified that what it does is evil. I pray that ______________________ and I will accept the reality that there will be times when those in the world will hate us for pointing out that what they do is evil. Help us to know when to speak up and confront, and when to hold back, just as you did. You always knew when the time was right to step forward publicly, and when the time was right to remain hidden in secret. May we learn from you your perfect sense of timing. We too are amazed at your teaching, as the Jews were, and we acknowledge that you did not acquire such learning through study but by receiving it from the one who sent you. Your teaching is not your own, but comes from God himself. I pray that we, along with every man, woman, and child who lives in our city, will face the truth that if we will choose to do the will of God, we will find out that you did not speak on your own, from yourself, but that your teaching comes from God. I pray that we will stop judging you or anything else by appearances, by superficial things, but instead learn to judge with right judgment, based on substance and truth. You were a man of truth because you did not come to gain honor for yourself but to work for the honor of the one who sent you. I ask for your help that we may imitate your example. May we no longer speak from ourselves or seek honor for ourselves. Instead, may we work for your honor alone that we too may be men and women of truth. May there be nothing false in us just as there was nothing false in you. These things I pray in your name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
