Lord Jesus, You teach us here that the one who loves you is the one who has your commands and obeys them. I pray that ______________________ and I will love you and choose this day to obey what you command. I thank you that you have asked the Father on our behalf for another Counselor, and that he has given us the Spirit of truth to be with us forever. I pray that we will accept and receive your Spirit, and believe that we may see him in you and know him through you. I thank you, Holy Spirit, for coming to live in us, and I thank you that Christ has also come to live in us through you. Lord Jesus, I pray that we will always believe that you are in the Father, that we are in you, and that you are in us. May we trust your words, the words that are not your own but belong to the Father who sent you, that because we love you, both you and the Father love us. May we rest in that love, and believe that because we love you, you will show yourself to us. I claim your promise for us that if we love you and obey your teaching, you and the Father will come to us and make your home with us. May we welcome you and the Father into our lives, so that you may reveal more of yourself and the Father to us. These things I ask in your name, amen.
