A Daily Prayer based on Acts 18:1-17

Lord Jesus, I pray that your blessing will rest on all the bi-vocational pastors in our city and in our nation, who serve in tent-making capacities during the week and preach your word on Sundays. Strengthen them, sustain them, and provide for them. I pray that you will make it possible for them in time to devote themselves exclusively to the ministry of the word. I pray that you will enable ______________________ and I to testify to others that you are the Christ. May we so fulfill our responsibility, even in the face of opposition, insult and abuse, that we will be clear of our responsibility and that the blood of those who have rejected the message of the gospel will be on their own heads. Direct us to those who are responsive to the truth that through us many may become worshipers of God and may believe in you and be baptized. When we face dark challenges, I pray that you will speak to us through your Spirit that we may not be afraid but continue to do what you have called us to do, and keep on speaking your truth without being silenced by fear. Be with us and protect us from those who would attack us and seek to harm us. I pray that you will bring others alongside us to encourage us and defend us. We pray together that you will protect the freedom of believers to freely speak of their faith. If any of us are brought into court and falslely accused of persuading people to worship God in ways that are contrary to the law or the Constitution, we ask you to protect us and uphold our freedom of speech and religion. Bless those groups who labor to protect religious freedom, and raise up courageous judges like Gallio who will throw frivolous and unwarranted lawsuits out of court so that our liberty to freely speak your truth in all places will not be compromised. We pray that the resources of our judicial system will be directed toward wrongdoing and vicious crime rather than oppressing religious liberty. This we pray in your name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
