A Daily Prayer based on Acts 17:1-15

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will equip ______________________ and me to reason with others from the Scriptures, and to explain to them the necessity of your death and resurrection. Together we also ask that you will equip every pastor in our city and nation to preach the word with power. We pray that many God-fearing people, whether religious or not, will be persuaded of the truth of your word, and that you will be pleased even to bring prominent citizens in our community and nation to faith. I pray that we all will act with such boldness and effectiveness that the enemies of the truth will accuse us of turning the whole world upside down. Lord, we see here that even in the early days of the church, your followers were falsely accused of "defying Caesar's decrees." Grant wisdom and restraint to public officials and judges when they are thrown into turmoil by controversy and false accusations over the speech and conduct of Christians. We pray for success and many victories for those groups who are working to protect our religious liberty and freedom of speech. We pray for those times when the enemies of the truth agitate the crowds and stir them up just as the enemies of the truth did in Paul's day. We pray together that reason and truth will prevail, and that freedom of speech and religion will be preserved in our community and nation for Christians as well as for everyone else. May your Spirit grant every citizen in our community ears to hear the voices of truth and reason. Give to everyone who contributes to the public dialogue over faith in the public square your thoughts and your words through your Holy Spirit. I pray that each of us will be a Berean, and act with noble character. May we embrace your word with great eagerness, and examine the Scriptures every day. I pray that this same eagerness to receive your message and examine the Scriptures daily will be found in every man, woman and child in our city and nation. This I ask in your name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
