A Daily Prayer based on Nehemiah 9:38-10:39

Sovereign Lord, In Jesus’ name, I pray for myself, for my family, for my church, for my city, and for my nation this day. I pray that you will do among us what you did among the people of Israel in Nehemiah’s day. I ask you to prompt our political leaders, our spiritual leaders, our community leaders, and the rest of the people, together with our wives and all our sons and all our daughters, to join together in a binding agreement to obey carefully all your commands. We pray that our single men and women will be spiritually discerning in the choice of a mate, so that every marriage may be stable and lasting and centered in Christ. Bless every existing marriage with the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace and faithfulness. We see here that spiritual renewal brought about a fresh commitment to your house. Eight times we read the phrase “the house of our God.” We affirm that today your house is the church of Jesus Christ, a holy temple being built together to become a dwelling in which you live by your Spirit. I pray that we will not neglect your house. Show each of us how to use the spiritual gifts you have given us to make a unique contribution to the building up and the enlarging of your house. May we be faithful to bring to you the firstfruits of our labor, that the work of your house may continue. We ask you to build your church, Lord Jesus, and we claim your promise today that not even the gates of Hades will be able to prevail against it. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
