A Daily Prayer based on Nehemiah 12

Lord God, I bring my city, my church, and the whole church of Jesus Christ in this land before you this day. I pray that each man, woman, and child will discover his spiritual gifts and use them in a place of service, whether as a “leader,” a “director,” a “gatekeeper,” or a “guard of the storeroom.” May each one recognize that there are no small tasks in your kingdom. I pray that we will offer songs of thanksgiving to you. May we give you praise and celebrate joyfully with songs of thanksgiving, with music and singing. We ask you to give us great joy. May our men, our women, and our children rejoice, and may the sound of our rejoicing be heard far away. In the name of Jesus, I pray for pastors, worship leaders, and other spiritual leaders who perform your service, the service of God. May the people under their leadership be pleased with them and give willingly to support the work of your kingdom. By your grace, may we purify ourselves, purify the people who live in every city, and purify even the “gates” and “walls” of our cities so our nation may once again be holy to the Lord. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."
