A Daily Prayer based on II Chronicles 33

Lord God, I bring myself and ______________________ before you this day in the name of Jesus. By the work of your Spirit, may we do only those things that are right in your eyes and restrain ourselves from doing those things which are evil in your eyes. May we be careful to do everything you have commanded us. Show us the things we need to remove from our lives that we may be wholly devoted to you. Protect us from all deception that we may not be led astray in any way. May we pay careful attention when you speak to us. When we are in distress, I pray that we will seek your favor and humble ourselves before you. Please be moved by our entreaties and listen to our pleas and restore us. We confess that as a nation we have allowed our spiritual and political leaders to lead us astray in many ways, even to the point where we have done more evil even than the nations around us. Grant us a spirit of repentance and turn our hearts back to you that we as a nation may once again be careful to do everything you have commanded us. We pray for an end to abortion in our land, and an end to the occult practices of fortune-telling and sorcery. In every election season, prompt us to choose public officials who seek to do what is right in your eyes rather than what is evil in your sight. We pray for a president and elected officials who will lead us as a people to be careful to do all that you have commanded us. Prompt us to reject those who do much evil in your sight and whose influence would lead us astray. We ask you for leaders who will turn to you in distress, entreat your favor and humble themselves greatly before you. We pray that you will be moved by their entreaties that they may come to know that you and you alone are God. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
