A Daily Prayer based on James 2:14-26

Lord Jesus, In your name, I ask you to turn your attention this day not only to me but also to ______________________. I pray that by the transforming work of your Spirit we will be among those who recognize that faith without works is useless. Protect us from the error of thinking that we can be saved by a faith that produces no works. I pray that we will not say to a brother or sister who is poorly clothed or lacking in daily food, Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” and then do nothing about their physical needs. Remind us that faith by itself, unless it is accompanied by action, is dead. Prompt us to show our faith by what we do. May we imitate the example of Abraham, who was considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar. I pray that our faith and our actions will work together, as his did, so that our faith be made complete by what we do. Like him, I pray that we will be called your friends because of our faith and obedience. May our faith be counted to us as righteousness. I pray that we will imitate Rahab, who was considered righteous for what she did, when she received Israel’s messengers and sent them out by another way. Prompt us to recognize that we are justified by a faith that produces works, and not by a faith that exists by itself alone. We know that the body without the spirit is dead, and that faith without works is dead. We ask you to produce in us a living, active, saving faith that produces works that please you. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
