A Daily Prayer based on James 2:1-13

Lord Jesus, I bring myself and ______________________ before your throne this day. I acknowledge you and worship you as the glorious Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that by your grace we will show no favoritism by paying special attention to the rich and ignoring the poor among us. Protect us from becoming judges with evil thoughts and discriminating among ourselves by making distinctions between people that you do not make. Remind us that you have chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith. May we not dishonor the poor, knowing that many of them will inherit the kingdom you have promised to those who love you. And remind us that often it is the rich who exploit us, who drag us into court, and who slander your noble name. I pray that we will do what is right by keeping the royal law of the Scripture and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Reveal to us any way in which we show favoritism so that we may not sin and so be convicted by the law as lawbreakers. Keep us from seeing this as a small thing; may we remember that whoever keeps the law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. I pray that we will speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law of liberty, the law that gives freedom. We accept your warning that those who are not merciful will be shown judgment without mercy. Just as your mercy triumphs over your judgment against us, so may our mercy triumph over our judgment against others. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
