A Daily Prayer based on II Peter 3:11-18

Lord Jesus, I pray this day for myself and for ______________________ . I ask that by your Spirit we may all grasp the truth that there is a day coming in which the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. Please cause us to look forward to the new heavens and the new earth that you have promised, an earth that will be the home of righteousness. In view of that day, I pray that you will energize us to live holy and godly lives, to look forward to the day of God, and by our conduct speed its coming. Prompt us to make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with you. May we remember that your patience is not meant for license but for our salvation. Keep us on our guard so that we are not carried away by ignorant and unstable people who distort the Scriptures. Protect us from the influence of men who have no regard for your law so that we do not lose our secure position. Instead, may we all grow in the grace and knowledge of you, our Lord and Savior. To you be glory both now and forever. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."
