A Daily Prayer based on II Peter 3:1-10

Lord Jesus, I pray in your name for myself and for ______________________ this day. I pray that you will, by your Spirit, stimulate us to wholesome thinking and remind us of the words spoken by your holy prophets in the Old Testament and your commands given to us through your apostles. May we be transformed by the renewing of our minds as we embrace the teaching of the whole counsel of God. Even though scoffers who follow their own desires mock the idea of your second coming, do not let us forget that by your word long ago the heavens existed and were formed out of water, and that by that same word the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. Remind us that by that same powerful word the present heavens and earth are being reserved, not for water, but for fire. May we have a sober appreciation for the reality that one day the heavens will disappear with a roar and the elements will be destroyed by fire. May we live each day with a clear understanding that there is a day of judgment, a day when you will destroy ungodly men. Prompt us to remember that this day will come like a thief, and that everything we are doing and have done will be laid bare. Energize us to live each day in a way that pleases you. Let us live each day with a trust in the promises of your word, and choose to believe that you are not slow in keeping your promises. Remind us that your timing is not our timing, and that with you a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. May we be patient with others as you are patient with us. Grant us the same heart that you have, that we too may not want anyone to perish but for everyone to come to repentance. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
