A Daily Prayer based on II Peter 2

2 Peter 2 Lord Jesus, I pray this day for your church in my city and in our nation. I pray that you will expose any false teachers who secretly introduce destructive heresies, exploit your people with stories they have made up, and deny you, the sovereign Lord who bought them. They blaspheme and condemn things of which they are ignorant and live by their impulses and the pursuit of pleasure rather than by the truth. May they bring swift destruction on themselves. We ask you to hold them for the day of judgment and protect the people we love from their error. I pray for myself and for ______________________ this day in your name. I pray that you will preserve us as you preserved Noah and rescue us as you rescued Lot. May our souls be righteous as theirs were. Like Lot, our souls are deeply distressed over the lawless deeds we see and hear in our day. As we live day after day in a spiritually hostile environment, I pray that you will cause us to be godly and that you will rescue us from the temptations that surround us on every side. I pray that we will follow you rather than the corrupt desires of our fallen humanity. Make us stable and strong in you so that we cannot be seduced by those who entice us by promising us freedom while they themselves are in bondage. Keep us on the straight way so that we never turn our backs on the sacred command that has been passed on to us. Remind us of the sobering truth that it is better not to have known the way of righteousness than to know it and then turn back. May we fearlessly proclaim righteousness as Noah did. Please keep us from becoming entangled and overcome again by things from which you have set us free. May we not be mastered by anything, but instead escape the corruption of the world by knowing you as our Lord and as our Savior. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
