A Daily Prayer based on Numbers 32

Almighty God, We read here in this passage about the attempt of Reuben and Gad to abandon the campaign for the land of Canaan and to stay with their families on the east side of the Jordan. And we see the strong response of Moses in insisting that they go armed into battle with their brothers until the land had been won. I pray today in Jesus' name that you will protect me and ______________________ from spiritual apathy and spiritual complacency, and from the inclination to withdraw from the campaign to advance your kingdom. May we all resist the temptation to settle into our own comfortable lives with our families and let others engage in the battle for the souls of men and for the soul of our nation. I pray that you will especially prompt the men among us, the husbands, the fathers, the heads of their households, to arm themselves for spiritual battle and link arms with their brothers in Christ to see your kingdom advance. May we not rest until the task you have called us to is complete. I pray that we will not discourage the hearts of fellow believers around us by our apathy, but instead infuse them with energy and strength by taking our place alongside them in the front lines of the battle we fight against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. May we be strong in you and in your mighty strength. I pray that you will prompt us to choose civic leaders like Moses who will lead us as a people away from division and isolation and instead toward unity and oneness of purpose that we may be one nation, under God and indivisible. Amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
