A Daily Prayer based on Judges 2:6-3:6

Almighty God, I pray that ______________________ and I will each have the lifelong impact that Joshua had on the people around him. May we live lives of such faith and character that those around us will be prompted by our example to serve you all the days of their lives. I pray that we will continue to cultivate a close personal relationship with you and never forget the great work that you have done for us in Christ and through Christ. I pray that we will trust in Christ as the one you have raised up to save us from the hands of our enemies. May we listen to him and never turn aside from his way but instead continue to obey his commands. I pray that we will never abandon him or turn back from following him so that we may not provoke you to anger. I praise you that you are a God who is moved to pity by our groaning. I pray that you will deliver us from affliction and oppression when we cry out to you. Please reveal to us any practices or stubborn ways we need to give up so that you always may be for us and not against us, and so that we may be able to withstand the pull of the world, the pull of our own flesh, and the temptation of demonic spirits. Lord, we confess on behalf of our land that we have done what is evil in your sight and have abandoned you, the God of our fathers. We have turned aside from the way in which our fathers walked, who obeyed your commandments, and we have provoked you to anger. We have been given over to plunderers who have plundered our marriages and our families and our wealth. We are in terrible distress. We pray that you will be moved to pity by our groaning and raise up spiritual and political leaders among us who will deliver us and our people from our enemies. I pray that we will drop our evil practices and our stubborn ways and once again take care to walk in the way of the Lord as our fathers did. This I ask in the all-powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
