A Daily Prayer based on Judges 1:1-2:5

Almighty God, I pray that when ______________________ and I inquire of you that you will guide us and direct us. Show us the things you want us to do and the challenges you want us to take on. I pray that we will imitate the example of the tribes of Judah and Joseph and set out to complete every responsibility you give us. May our lives serve as examples for others to follow. As Simeon came alongside Judah, so I pray that you will raise up brothers and sisters who will support us and help us. Use us to do the same for others. Please go with us and assist us in overcoming every form of resistance. Lord, we also see many tribes did not take complete possession of the inheritance you had assigned to them. I pray that we will press on until everything that opposes your will, everything that is displeasing to you, is removed from our lives. May there be nothing left in our lives to serve as a snare or as a thorn in our side. I pray that we will not allow the enemy of our soul to press us into retreat; instead may we gain complete control over every area of our lives through the power of Jesus Christ. I pray for our nation, that you will bring us to the place of brokenness and weeping over our sins against you. We confess that, like ancient Israel, we have not obeyed your voice. We have broken our covenant with you even though you have not broken your covenant with us. The gods of this age have become snares to us and thorns in our sides. I pray that your Spirit will so work in the hearts of the American people that we will lift up our voices and weep over our sin and return with a whole heart to you. It is in his name I pray, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
