A Daily Prayer based on Isaiah 38-39

Sovereign Lord, I pray that by the work of your Spirit ______________________ and I may walk before you faithfully this day, and with wholehearted devotion do what is good in your eyes. I pray that you will hear our prayers and see our tears in times of distress. I ask you to answer our prayers and to defend and deliver us from all harm intended against us by the enemy of our souls. I ask you to come to our aid when we are troubled and when our eyes grow weak looking to the heavens for your help. I ask that through our anguish of soul we will learn to walk humbly before you all our years. May we come to see it is for our benefit that you allow us to suffer such anguish, that ultimately it is for our welfare that we experience great bitterness for a time. May our spirit find life in these things, and see that it is through suffering that we find true life. Please restore us to health in body and soul. In your love, keep us from the pit of destruction. Please put all our sins behind your back. I pray for political leaders who will walk before you faithfully and with a whole heart, as Hezekiah did, and who will do what is good in your sight. But Lord, we also see that Hezekiah was unconcerned about the disastrous fate that would come upon his nation because it would not happen in his day. He only cared that there would be peace and security in his days and was careless about the long term consequences of his own political decisions. I pray that you will grant us leaders who will do what is right this day and not postpone important decisions so that future generations will have to deal with the consequences. I pray that you will do for us everything you have promised that we may experience peace and security. Prompt us to praise you, and tell our children about your faithfulness. May we sing all the days of our lives in your temple, and know that you, the Lord God Almighty, will save us. This I ask in the name of Jesus, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
