A Daily Prayer based on Isaiah 36-37

Lord Almighty, I pray to you as the God of Israel, as the God who is enthroned between the cherubim in your unseen temple in the heavens. You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone made heaven and earth. I ask you to give ear to my prayer, to open your eyes and see. I bring my nation before you today. Just as Assyria threatened Judah, so we have an enemy who serves a different god who seeks our destruction. I pray that you will listen to their words of insult against you, the living God. They have blasphemed you, raised their voice against you, and lifted their eyes in pride against you, the Holy One of Israel. They have drained nations of power, and caused their people to be dismayed and put to shame. They rage against you and against us because we are identified with you. They threaten to attack and destroy our land, and claim that God is telling them to do it. They have already brought against us a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the point of birth and there is no strength to deliver them. I pray that you will hear their words, words that ridicule you, the living God, and that you will rebuke them for the words you have heard. You know where our nation's enemies stay, when they come and go, and how they rage against you. I pray that their rage and insolence will reach your ears, and that you will put your hook in their nose, your bit in their mouth, and make them return by the way they came. I pray that you will bring about a renewal of faith in our people. May our nation’s leaders do just as Hezekiah did, and pray to you, and lay out the threats of our enemies before you. I pray that our people will not base our confidence upon our strategy and military strength, or alliances with other powers. Instead, I pray that we will depend upon you, the Lord our God, and trust you to deliver us. I affirm the truth that you can save our land from our enemies and deliver our cities from their hand. I pray that you will defend this land and save it for your sake. Deliver us from the hand of our enemies so that all kingdoms on earth may know that you alone, O Lord, are God. I also pray this day for ______________________ and myself , especially when we face days of distress. There will be days when we feel threatened by enemies, seen or unseen, who will ridicule us for our dependence upon you. We may feel helpless and small in the face of what has come against us. I pray in that day that you will strengthen our faith. I ask that you will prompt us to pray to you, and bring each concern before you. I ask you to give us a word of encouragement in that day. I pray that you will defend us and save us and deliver us from all our enemies for your sake, so that everyone around us may see that you alone, O Lord, are God. This I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Welcome

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
