A Daily Prayer based on II Kings 1-2

Lord God, I pray that your Spirit will so work in ______________________ and me, and in all who live in our city and in our nation, that we will choose political leaders for ourselves who consult with you and seek to know and understand your will, both in their personal lives and in their public service. Please raise up spiritual leaders among us like Elijah, men who will speak your truth to those in authority without fear. If those in power try to harm them in any way, I ask you to protect them with your supernatural power as you protected Elijah. I pray for those in our community and nation who are spiritual leaders. I ask you to direct them as you directed Elijah, so they will always know where you want them to go and what you want them to do. I pray that you will bring a faithful and loyal servant like Elisha to each one's side. I pray too that each spiritual leader will mentor younger men so that when his time comes to be taken up, there will be men who are prepared to step into his role and carry on your work. May each spiritual leader choose his disciples and successors wisely. I pray that the anointing that rested on them will be transferred to those who follow them in service to your kingdom. I ask that you will clearly establish and confirm those who are to provide spiritual leadership in our cities and in our nation, just as you clearly confirmed Elisha. I pray that the civic leaders in each of our cities and the political leaders of our nation will be prompted to turn to men of God for help so that through their prayers your healing power can be released into each community and into our land. I pray that you will work among the young men in our community so that they will respect and not despise those who exercise spiritual authority and leadership here. I pray that each of us also may be able to mentor those younger than us, as Elijah mentored Elisha. And please use us to be a faithful and loyal friend to someone else, as Elisha was to Elijah. Lord, you opened the eyes of Elisha so that he was able to see the unseen chariots and horses of fire that make up the army of heaven. May we never forget that the unseen army of Satan is no match for the unseen army of the Lord. Never let us forget that those are with us are more than those who are with our adversaries, Remind us that you, the one who is in us, are greater than he that is in the world. These things I ask in the name of Jesus, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Welcome

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
