A Daily Prayer based on Deuteronomy 22-23

Almighty God, I ask you to produce in ______________________ and me a genuine concern for our neighbors that we may love our neighbors as we love ourselves. May we have a generous spirit toward others so that you may bless us in everything we put our hand to. Make each of us a man of his word, someone who does whatever his lips utter. Keep us from making rash and impulsive promises; may we make fewer promises but keep the ones we make. I ask you to purify us in every way so that we will be holy and that you may see nothing indecent in us that would cause you to turn away from us. I pray that you will bless the sexual union of every husband and wife among us. Prompt them to serve each other that their intimate relationship may be everything you intend for it to be. I pray that you will prosper their union in every respect – in body, in soul, and in spirit. For those who are single, I pray that you will fill them with a spirit of sexual purity, self-control, and self-restraint. May each of them be empowered by your Spirit to reserve sexual expression for marriage. Grant them a deep conviction of the importance of sexual purity and give them strength and a way of escape when they face temptation. I pray for our community and nation. In Jesus’ name I come against the spirits of sexual immorality, adultery, and rape. May the power of these dark spirits be broken in the heavenly realms so that every man, woman, and child may be set free from their dominion. Please release into our land a spirit of sexual purity and fidelity. I pray that you will give counsel to our lawmakers at every level that we may establish righteous public policy to deal with sins of immorality, adultery, and rape. May all such acts receive proper punishment that we may as a community receive healing from the damage these sins cause and so that the evil of sexual sin may be purged from our midst. Bring about deep repentance in the hearts of all who have indulged in these sins. Please forgive them of their sins, purify them from all uncleanness, and renew in them a fresh commitment to sexual purity. I pray for our military, that you will remind everyone who wears the uniform that you walk in their midst to deliver them and to give up our nation’s enemies to them. I pray that you will prompt them to keep themselves holy so that you may not see anything indecent among them and turn away from them. These things I ask in Jesus’ name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Welcome

Never before in the history of our country has America faced a moral crisis like the one before us today. The foundations of our government are crumbling right before our eyes. Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
