A Daily Prayer based on Matthew 4

Lord Jesus, I ask you to teach ______________________ and me how to overcome when we are tempted by the devil as you were. When we are tempted to indulge desires that are contrary to your will, please remind us that we do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. When we are tempted to do things that are rash or foolish or presumptuous, remind us that that we are not to put you to the test. Grant us the discernment to recognize the occasions on which Satan twists even the Scriptures themselves to draw us into sin. When we are tempted to take shortcuts to power or success or wealth, remind us that we are to worship you and serve you only. Show us how to use the authority found in your name to command Satan to leave our presence. I pray we will live lives of ready repentance, remembering that your kingdom is near. May we follow you without reserve anytime you call us, and I ask you to make us fishers of men. I pray that through your presence in us, people now living in darkness will see your great light, and your light will dawn on those now living in the land of the shadow of death. I pray that through us the good news of your kingdom will spread through our city and nation. I even dare to ask that through us diseases and sicknesses will be healed in your name. May those suffering severe pain, the demonically oppressed, those suffering seizures, and those who are paralyzed be healed through you. I pray that you will be known again in our land as the great teacher, the great healer, and the one who has power and authority over all demons. I ask these things in your name, amen.

"There is no better way to pray according to the will of God than by praying his own word back to him. These daily prayers are crafted, as much as possible, to incorporate the very words of the Scripture."

Our churches are abandoning God, our families are in shambles. There is only one hope for restoration - the Lord Jesus Christ.
