Lord Jesus, I ask in your name that you will move ______________________ and me to often seek out solitary places for prayer, as you did. Please meet with us when we seek you, and direct our footsteps in life, career, and ministry. May we have a clear understanding from you about where you want us to be and what you want us to do. Please fill us with your compassion for those who are suffering. When we seek you for healing, for ourselves or for others, may we approach you as the leper did, with the faith that you can heal when it is according to your will. I pray that you will touch others through us with the healing and helping power found in your name. Lord, we see here how the healed leper did what was only natural, but that what he did was contrary to your explicit instructions. Teach us to obey the directions we receive from you, without altering them according to our own judgment or inclination. We also see how the paralytic was healed through the faith and actions of his friends. I pray that each of us will be this kind of a friend for others, and that you will use us and our active faith to bring people before you for both spiritual and physical healing. May you see our faith, and release healing into the lives of those we bring to you. I pray that we will always understand that being right with you is more important than physical healing. May we grasp fully the truth that you have authority on earth to forgive sins, and may we find rest and freedom in the knowledge of the complete forgiveness of sins you have provided for us. Please use us to introduce others to the forgiveness of sins that is available in you. As you used the physical healing of the paralytic to confirm your spiritual authority, so I pray that you would, even in our day, dramatically demonstrate your power through miracles of healing so that your word may be confirmed to willing hearts. May the people of our community and nation see things done in your name that they have never seen before, that they might be amazed at your power and praise your Father. Amen.
